Harry's story
Our elderly Westie, Harry, suffered terribly with multiple bouts of Pancreatitis; we were at a total loss on what to do and were facing the "Is it time?" question that every dog owner dreads.
We tried Different Dog as a last resort and his health improved dramatically. The Pancreatitis disappeared and our little man has since enjoyed a bonus two years of happily bouncing around our garden. Even our vets were amazed at the change in Harry when he went on to Different Dog; he had been so unwell every few weeks even on the food the vet had recommended.

Do you recognise these symptoms?
Pancreatitis means ‘inflammation of the pancreas' and acute pancreatitis is often caused by your dog eating something it shouldn’t. The symptoms can come on suddenly and can be very serious; we recommend you seek help from your vet straight away.
Chronic pancreatitis is a low-grade inflammation with intermittent signs of occasional colic, vomiting and lack of appetite and can lead to other issues such as Type One Diabetes or Exocrine Pancreatic.
The symptoms of Pancreatitis you need to look out for are reluctance to eat or drink, vomiting, lethargy, abdominal pain, fever, and dehydration.

Recommended Recipes
If your dog has a health condition, like Pancreatitis, we encourage you to get in touch with our team who will arrange a consultation with our vet or nutritionist to discuss your dog's medical history and help you find the very best recipes for them. Here are two of the recipes we recommend most to owners of Pancreatitis-prone pups.
This recipe is ideal for dogs who require a low-fat diet as it is cooked with lean turkey breast and is gently hand-cooked with red cabbage, carrots and high-fibre apples. We've also added squash and chia seeds to help aid digestion and improve gut health.
This fish dish contains highly digestible low-fat protein, so we often recommend it for dogs showing signs of Pancreatitis. Hand-cooked to enhance overall health we've included antioxidant and anti-inflammatory ingredients such as turmeric, broccoli and mushrooms.
Dennis
Kicking myself for not switching to DD sooner!
Dennis has a very sensitive stomach and recently had a very bad episode of acute pancreatitis. We were recommended Different Dog by a friend and Dennis is absolutely thriving on it. He is normally a very fussy eater but we’ve had a clean bowl after every meal time for over a week now and that has never, ever happened before. His poos are the healthiest they’ve been in ages and he seems so much happier in himself which is amazing to see after he was so poorly not so long ago.

He absolutely loves it
I recently moved my dog over to Different Dog after he had pancreatitis and he was struggling to tolerate his other food. The staff are so helpful they manage to get the order to me faster and even rang in the week to see how he was doing on it. It’s fair to say he absolutely loves it and it’s peace of mind knowing it has good quality, fresh ingredients.

Different Dog is exceptional
I struggled to find a diet that would suit a dog with IBD, Bronchitis and chronic pancreatitis. Different Dog has been a life-saver, and even works out cheaper than previous diets; it's just what my dog needed. The customer service is excellent; if I could rate 6 stars I would have.

Before starting Different Dog, I worked in the pet food industry, and what I saw made me worry about my dog's health; how could heavily processed, dry biscuits be the path to health and happiness? Alex and I set out to change dogs' lives with real, nutritious food and since day one, our customers have been telling us that their dog really is a different dog since switching to our freshly cooked recipes.
