Django's story
We originally purchased Different Dog because they were the only company I could find with a low phosphorus diet for my dog, who suffered from kidney issues.
It turns out that he loves the food even more than his old raw diet, and even spends a long time ensuring he has eaten every bit! The other dog (both terriers) has tasted some and also appears to prefer it to her raw diet. We've had a great after-sales service, too.

Do you recognise these symptoms?
Some of the early signs of Kidney disease include an increase in drinking and urination, a dry flakey coat, and bad breath. These symptoms can then progress to anorexia, nausea and vomiting, extreme weight loss, lethargy, and sunken eyes.
Dietary restriction, specifically with protein sources is commonly advised, however, this should only be introduced in the later stages of renal insufficiency, and even at this stage it should only be restricted by 15-20% of each meal to ensure they get everything they need. The great thing about feeding fresh is the high quality, human-grade bioavailability of the protein is hugely supportive for renal function.

Low in purine and phosphorous, this recipe is designed to support kidney and liver health. Hand-cooked with lean turkey and white fish and infused with dandelion and nettler to help promote urine elimination and aid in the prevention of stone formation. This recipe has the lowest level of phosphorus inclusion in our range at <0.2% ‘as fed’ (<0.7% of dry matter).

The food looks very appetising unlike some of the raw ones we tried
After our dog was diagnosed with stage 2 kidney disease, we tried numerous dog foods only to find Harley turned his nose up at them all. We then found Different Dog, and Harley loves it. The food looks very appetising unlike some of the raw ones we tried. I just wish we'd made the switch years ago. The staff are very helpful and genuinely have your dog's best interests at heart.

The only brand she loves is Different Dog!
My dog experienced kidney problems when she was on kibble, then I started reading dog nutrition books and cooking for her. In a few months, she completely recovered, but, this home cooking caused a new problem; my dog became a super picky eater. She only eats fresh, high quality and home-cooked meals now, but cooking for her takes hours, and it is really hard to adjust recipes and balance her diet. I tried many well-known brands, both raw and cooked, but she hated them all. The only brand she loves is Different Dog!
Anon, very pleased to no longer have to home cook!
We understand how big a decision switching any dog's diet is, but, it can be especially hard when your dog has an ongoing health condition. Don't worry, we are here to support you every step of the way.

Before starting Different Dog, I worked in the pet food industry, and what I saw made me worry about my dog's health; how could heavily processed, dry biscuits be the path to health and happiness? Alex and I set out to change dogs' lives with real, nutritious food and since day one, our customers have been telling us that their dog really is a different dog since switching to our freshly cooked recipes.
