For dogs with IBD, it’s important not to overload the gut, as it will cause more inflammation and possible intolerances, so we recommend changing their diet very slowly and choosing just one or two proteins to start with, while always using probiotics for added support. Here are our top two IBD recipes.

Symptoms of digestive issues in dogs
Inflammatory Bowel Disease, more commonly known as IBD is a chronic condition that causes irritation and inflammation in your dog's gastro intestines and consequently cellular inflammation throughout the whole body. It can make digesting food difficult and causes uncomfortable symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhoea, weight loss and painful, gassy tummies. Less common symptoms can include eating grass or soil, food and environmental intolerances, poor immune system, coprophagia, and behavioural issues.
One of the most effective ways to treat IBD is by modifying your dog's diet. Read on to discover how our freshly cooked recipes can help your dog and cut down on those vet bills.
Treating digestive issues in dogs - Bertie's story
I can't thank Different Dog enough for helping my IBD dog.
I Bertie was hospitalised for two weeks last year before eventually being diagnosed with IBD. We were advised to place him on a vet-recommended hydrolysed diet, which he really wasn't keen on. His poops were a horrible yellow colour and very loose with frequent bouts of diarrhoea. It took me nearly a year to pluck up the courage and make the change to Different Dog, but with a very slow transition over 20 days, his poops and digestive health have transformed. Thank you to all at Different Dog, Bertie now scoffs his food and looks for more!

Betsy (age 16 and a half) loves it
Betsy (age 16 and a half) has been on Different Dog for more than a year. I think it might be the reason she’s still going strong. I know that sounds like an exaggeration but when she turned 15 her digestion couldn’t tolerate even the most expensive medical grade kibble and she was getting thinner, was sad and wasn’t eating and her poos were horrible. But as soon as she moved onto Different Dog she perked up, is back to her chubby self, and is eating like a horse. I place my order every couple of weeks and it arrives on time every time.

Just the best
Oscar never lifts his head up, tail goes flat and he licks right round his bowl - he loves the dinners so much. Best of all his digestion is back to normal and no sickness. He rolls around on the rug after dinner looking very satisfied with himself. Can’t recommend Different Dog highly enough.
